PDF and Export

This section separates three paths that should not be debugged as one system: editor PDF preview, CLI browser book export, and TeX emission. Start with pagination debugging when the symptom is duplicated, cropped, collapsed, or misordered PDF output.

PDF/export is a first-class generator subsystem over the same Markdown and Hugo contracts as the website renderer. Prefer browser/Playwright export and scoped print CSS for new work; treat TeX as a compatibility output rather than the main source of truth.
